Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales – Full-Strength Cuban Cigar
Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales is a traditional Cuban cigar built around the powerful character for which the Partagas name is known. Presented in the Eminentes factory vitola, it measures 132 mm in length with a 44 ring gauge and uses long-filler Cuban tobacco in a hand-rolled construction.
Its relatively compact dimensions should not be mistaken for a mild profile. The Petit Coronas Especiales is classified as a full-strength cigar, combining the manageable proportions of the Eminentes format with the richer tobacco character traditionally associated with Partagas.
At ASAD Smoking UAE, this product forms part of our selection of established Cuban cigar brands, with attention given to correct handling, storage and product identification.

What Makes Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales Distinctive?
One of the defining characteristics of Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales is the relationship between its size and strength. At 132 mm long and 44 ring gauge, it sits below many larger premium cigar formats in overall dimensions while retaining a notably robust tobacco profile.
The cigar is identified by the factory name Eminentes. This format gives it a traditional appearance with enough tobacco volume to distinguish it clearly from Mini cigars and cigarillos.
Another important characteristic is its long-filler construction. The product was historically associated with machine production, while more recent production is described as hand rolled with long-filler tobacco.
Classic Partagas Tobacco Character
Partagas is traditionally associated with a stronger style of Cuban cigar, and the Petit Coronas Especiales follows that direction.
Published tasting descriptions of this cigar commonly identify spice and pepper in its opening stages. As the cigar develops, descriptions include toast, cream, cinnamon and touches of clove.
These notes should be understood as sensory descriptions rather than fixed characteristics. Perception can vary according to individual palate, cigar condition, storage history and smoking pace.
The overall profile is nevertheless generally described as rich and characteristically Partagas, with the cigar classified in the stronger end of the Cuban cigar spectrum.
132mm Length and 44 Ring Gauge
The dimensions of Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales are an important part of its identity.
Its 132 mm length corresponds to approximately 5.20 inches, while its 44 ring gauge represents a diameter of approximately 17.5 mm.
Compared with a larger Robusto-style cigar, the Eminentes format is relatively streamlined. At the same time, its 44 ring gauge provides substantially more tobacco volume than a narrow Panatela or cigarillo.
Cigar dimensions can affect airflow, combustion and the relationship between wrapper and filler tobacco, although size alone does not determine strength or quality.
Partagas – A Historic Cuban Cigar Brand
Partagas is one of the longstanding names associated with Cuban cigar production. The brand traces its history to the nineteenth century and has become particularly associated with cigars offering a pronounced tobacco character.
The Partagas portfolio contains multiple traditional Cuban vitolas, ranging from relatively compact formats to substantially larger cigars.
Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales occupies an interesting position within that portfolio because its moderate physical dimensions are paired with a distinctly strong profile.
Long-Filler and Hand-Rolled Construction
The construction of a premium cigar plays an important role in its physical characteristics.
Long-filler cigars use whole or substantially intact tobacco leaves through the interior of the cigar rather than short pieces of tobacco. These filler leaves are held together by a binder and covered by the outer wrapper.
Current Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales production is described as hand rolled and long filler, reflecting the traditional construction associated with premium Cuban cigars.
Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales and Cigar Aging
Some cigar references suggest that the stronger character of this particular Partagas can change with extended humidor storage. Aging premium cigars is a specialist practice and results depend heavily on storage stability, cigar condition and personal preference.
Anyone storing cigars for an extended period should pay close attention to temperature and humidity rather than relying simply on storage duration.
This is particularly important in the UAE, where high ambient temperatures make controlled cigar storage especially relevant.
Proper Cuban Cigar Storage in the UAE
Premium Cuban cigars should be protected from excessive heat, direct sunlight and major humidity fluctuations.
A properly maintained humidor together with an accurate hygrometer provides a more controlled environment for cigar storage.
